Club Information

The Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club is an organization of Golden Retriever enthusiasts, primarily from South Carolina. Membership currently stretches from Savannah, GA on the south east; Raleigh, NC on the northeast; to Nashville, TN on the north west; and Anderson, SC on the south west.

Members include pet owners and those who compete in dog shows, obedience trials, agility trials, hunt tests and field trials.

The Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club is a member Club of the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Holds Working Certificate (WC) and Working Certificate Excellent Tests (tests of hunting and retrieving ability) annually under the Rules of the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Is licensed by the American Kennel Club to hold specialty shows and obedience trials. Is approved by the American Kennel Club to hold sanctioned matches in field events.

Protects and advances the interest of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, field events, tracking tests and obedience trials.

Has a member designated as the puppy referral contact in South Carolina for the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Is involved in public education efforts regarding the Golden Retriever and about responsible dog ownership.

Promotes and encourages the efforts of local Golden Retriever rescue groups.

Encourages and promotes the limited, responsible and discriminate breeding of Golden Retrievers that possess the soundness, temperament, natural abilities and temperament asdescribed in the breed standard adapted by the Golden Retriever Club of America.

Educates members and the public in the selection, care, training and breeding of Golden Retrievers.
